Intentions

My subject is movement, energy, and change.

The act of creating  a painting sometimes begins with a meditation. Then comes the flow of energy carried by the paint onto the silent receptive surface.

I often shut my eyes in order to feel this flow more intensely. The energy guides my hand until surface and paint pass through the transformative process. Space, time, and movement are born, revealing the archtypal forms, half hidden in the maze of marks and colors. It is a journey of discovery, simultaneously playful and mystical. A face may appear, or a flock of birds. Or the marks may remain in their primeval condition, before the coming of named things.

Everything is in a state of change. Nothing is fixed or certain.
